Cloth Face Coverings and Hand Sanitizer Bottles Now Available in Your Department

July 30, 2020

Campus Colleagues,

As we approach the start of the fall 2020 semester, we are coordinating the delivery of two cloth face coverings for every employee (and student) as well as one pocket-size hand sanitizer bottle that can be refilled at stations across campus. These items will be delivered directly to your departments, in individual packets, so each employee can pick it up at their convenience when they return to campus.

At this time, availability is limited to one packet per employee. We want to make sure all employees and students have an opportunity to pick up their packet.

Students can pick up their packets as part of the check-in process for the residence halls or at Highsmith Student Union if they are non-residential students. These packets will be available by early August.

Employees, students and visitors may wear their own cloth masks or face coverings if they prefer. Cloth masks or face coverings should be washed daily, and the fabric design or pattern should be appropriate for the workplace. To read more about how to properly wear and care for your cloth face covering, please refer to the CDC information at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prevent-getting-sick/diy-cloth-face-coverings.html.

The community expectation and requirement is that everyone coming to campus will wear a face covering, and these coverings must cover the mouth and nose and must be worn when in the presence of others (e.g. common workspaces, classrooms, meeting rooms), and outdoors when social distancing is not possible.
