UNC Asheville Launches National Search for Chief Advancement Officer

Chancellor Anne Ponder announced today the launch of a national search for the university’s next advancement executive. The Vice Chancellor for Advancement, who also serves as the Executive Director of the UNC Asheville Foundation and a member of the Chancellor’s Senior Staff, will forge strong partnerships with the Greater Asheville community, our alumni, and multiple campus constituencies to solidify broader support for the university. “Assuring the strong financial future of our university is one of our highest priorities, and we will rely increasingly on the support of our friends near and far in the years to come,” said Chancellor Ponder.

The position will require a proven development leader with the capacity to strategically build upon the university’s past success in fundraising by creatively engaging its alumni and community supporters and to utilize its many untapped assets.

With the assistance of experienced search consultants from AGB Search, the search is expected to result in an appointment in the summer of 2012, with a new colleague joining us by fall of 2012.
