Classification and Compensation provides a solution-driven approach for consultation and analysis of SHRA and EHRA position classification and salary administration requests and initiatives. The intent is to design positions that fulfill organizational and university goals, and to provide attractive, equitable, and competitive compensation to support UNC Asheville’s mission.
The Classification and Compensation unit collaborates with vice chancellors and department directors/supervisors regarding appropriate position classifications and salary determinations, while serving as an advocate for the University in its interactions as a principal liaison to the UNC System (UNCSO) and NC Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) in effectively administering classification, employment, and compensation plans and policies.
